Well am I glad this is virgin territory.
Gives us a chance to not be philistines.
How does one arrive at an ethics?
By knowing what one wants.
Ethics are nothing but a prescribed behaviour in terms of a desired outcome.
Now the philistine will ask: are there less and more ethical desires?
Are some wants, needs and urges more inherently ethical than others?
The key word here, as there is no definitive yes, is risk.
Some desires are harder than others to fulfill. And for some desires, to fulfill them requires that one terminate other peoples quests and be cruel.
This involves risk. Thats all I have to say about that.
- God
(as God, I do like risk takers. I am one myself)
