How to create Life?

As God, I have no problems creating life using a very long term and allowing very many contingent processes that serve no purpose besides being waste. Which, to some life, is actually a purpose. So theres that.

But now I ask you lifeforms, how would ye create life in a delimited experimental environment?
I don't mean a bed. I don't meant to ask how you would like to use your particular life-perpetuating-utensils this night.

in the future, children in schools in bio-domes on terraformed planets in distant solar systems will read in their history books how in the year 3095, the human species not only made it out of their own solar system, but had developed the technology to make themselves immortal.

wait! correction. this: 'will read in their history books', should instead read 'on their cyber-organic brain-interfacing computer tablets.
