Nothing I said has to do with the utility of lies.
Lies, self-deceit, are useful.
Placing survival as the standard of evaluating what is more probable, is what separates spirituality from philosophy.
Utility of deceit and self-deceit, as politics and spirituality, coping with what is, is not in doubt.

Communism, case in point.
It collapsed because its conception of the human animal was wrong. If it would have continued it would have resulted in dissolution and mass extermination. But it was not really practiced as it was written in theory.
Christianity, if it adheres to its own principles and values, leads to extinction.
Anarchy, if applied religiously, leads to the extermination of the idealist.
Any idealism that contradicts natural selection....
Jehovah witnesses when they refuse blood transfusions to save their lives.
Luddites...and on and on....
Any theory that rejects race will slowly decline and then be exterminated by one that accepts race as part of evolution theory...but I cannot prove this one because we are in the midst of this decline.
But nihilists never practice their own dogmas, their own ideals, because survival is above their nihilistic idealism. They always have an excuse, a justification....they claim one thing and then behave in contradiction to it.
In fact nihilism, selectively applied, is their method of coping so that they DO survive a world they cannot accept.
Christians massacred millions...and they had justifications and excuses.
I explained how nihilistic ideologies must either have a proxy that protects them from their own detachment from reality, or they must lie, to survive in a world they deny, or selectively accept.
All ideologies, all beliefs can be tested without being applied.
Juxtaposition of noumenon and phenomenon...ideal and the real.
There are three ways to test a judgment, a hypothesis...and not only application.
Self-deception is all over the place, dude.
The brain is an organ that protects the organism....like when a trauma risks the individual sanity, his well-being. He may push it down into his subconscious to protect himself...and forget about it.
I've met liars who passionately believed in their lies, and were insulted when I exposed them...I gave that up when I realized that they needed the self-deception and they would avenge themselves against me rather than accept responsibility.
The brain is an organ of survival....if a lie promotes this, that is what it accepts as 'truth' and then justifies it.
